Wine photography as portraiture — people, places & bottles.
For more than 10 years I’ve been photographing the world of wine: winemakers, estates, vineyards and bottles for leading wine magazines and brands.
The world of wine in four dimensions
Wine is people, place, time and the bottle itself. I treat each of these dimensions as a separate story — and then connect them in one visual language for your brand, magazine or estate.
Quiet, attentive portrait sessions — in cellars, offices or among barrels. I keep the technical side invisible so that personality can come forward.
Soft morning light, late evening shadows, fog, harvest, soil – photography that shows why your vineyard tastes the way it does.
From technical bottle shots for catalogs to moody still lifes for campaigns and editorials, tailored to your brand’s tone of voice.
Assignments for wine media, fairs and tastings: reportage, backstage, portraits and details that together form a narrative.
Selected wine assignments

How I work on wine assignments
My background is editorial photography. For wine, that means I combine precise technical work with a very human, quiet way of being on set — especially with people who are not used to being photographed.
- Pre-production. We discuss what you need: portraits, vineyard, bottles, events, technical shots — and how they will be used.
- Concept & schedule. I propose a simple structure for the day: when to shoot people, when to go out to vineyards, when to work on bottles and details.
- Quiet presence. I work light and keep the technical side in the background, so you can do your job while I do mine.
- Post-processing & delivery. Color work, subtle retouching where necessary, and files ready for print and web use.
Some of the best photographs happen in the pauses — between barrel samples, in the quiet corridor next to the tasting room, in early morning fog above the vines. I tend to look for these quieter moments and build the visual story around them.
If you have a specific brief, I’ll follow it carefully. If you only have a feeling of what you want, we can shape the assignment together.
Who I work with
Whether you are a small family estate or a major importer, the logic of the shoot is the same: to show what makes your wine and your people distinct — without clichés.
Portraits of owners and winemakers, vineyard and cellar imagery, bottle photography and details for your website, presentations and trade partners.
Visual stories for key brands in your portfolio: from technical bottle shots to on-location shoots at partner estates and events.
Editorial assignments, covers, long-term projects and festival coverage. I’m used to working closely with editors and art directors.
A few examples in context
Below is a short overview of how the photographs are actually used: in print, digital campaigns, and to build long-term identities for wine brands.
A portrait-driven assignment around Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal and the identity of Château Angélus. The images were used for the cover and main feature of a leading wine magazine, and later repurposed by the estate for their own communications.
A series of shoots for a wine importer, combining portraits of key producers, minimalistic bottle photography and vineyard landscapes. The result: coherent visuals for presentations, website and tastings.
Let’s talk about your next harvest
A short email is enough to start: where you are, what you need to photograph, and when. I’ll reply with a few options and a rough estimate.
Based in Armenia. Working comfortably in English and Russian, open to assignments in Europe, the Caucasus and beyond. I’m used to traveling light and adapting to existing schedules of harvests, tastings and events.
